Donald O Connor hosted the oscar from the Pantages at Los Angeles and Fredric March hosted from the NBC Theatre in New York. Walt Disney became the first person to win 3-4 Oscars in one night, all in the lesser known categories. All the starring players from that year's best picture winner From Here To Eternity were nominated with Donna Reed and Frank Sinatra winning.
